A basic service should always include replacement of the oil filter, oil, check/top up of fluids and a comprehensive inspection of the car...a lot like going to the doctor for a checkup. For a logbook service, it will include all this and may include additional items in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements, and this depends on the number of kilometres travelled and/or age of the vehicle.
Importantly, you don't need to go to the dealership for your logbook servicing. We can do all that for you, and it won't affect your manufacturer's warranty. We're often more competitively priced, and, you can book in a lot sooner!
No, you do not have to get your car serviced at a dealership to keep your manufacturer's warranty in Australia. Under the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) guidelines, you are legally allowed to use an independent mechanic, however, to ensure your warranty remains valid, you must meet the following conditions:
1. Follow the Logbook Schedule: The service must be carried out at the manufacturer’s specified intervals (e.g., every 12 months or 15,000 km)
2. Use Qualified Staff: The mechanic must be fully licensed and suitably qualified to work on your vehicle.
3. Meet Manufacturer Specs: The work must follow the manufacturer's exact specifications, and parts used (fluids, filters, etc.) must be of original equipment (OEM) or equivalent quality.
So. YES, we can certainly look after your vehicle at UltraTune and it WON'T affect your warranty. We're also competitively priced, and, you can book in a lot sooner too.
Certainly do your research online. Replacing just your brake pads against worn, grooved, or uneven rotors limits the surface contact area, which can increase your stopping distance and cause squeaking or vibration. For a better and safer outcome, we always recommend replacing your rotors at the same time as replacing your brake pads.
Yes, we offer 6-months or 10,000km (whicherver comes first) warranty on all our service and repair work.
